Downed Trees, Wires Close Rt. 94 In Vernon, Thousands Of Power Outages Reported

Route 94 in Vernon was closed in both directions Monday, June 26 and thousands of power outages were reported due to a fallen tree and wires caused by heavy winds, officials said.

The road was closed near CR 644/Vernon Crossings Road around 1:10 p.m., according to the NJDOT.

Several additional roads were impacted by storms as well, local police said:

According to JCP&L, just under half of the township’s 4,427 residents had lost power with an estimated restoration time of 2:30 p.m.
